About Chelsey
Chelsey James is the lead singer of Cherry & James. A 417 native from Ozark, Missouri, her musical journey into music began unexpectedly. While in college, friends signed her up for karaoke, and the rest is history! What started as a surprise quickly turned into a passion that’s now spanned over 10 years. Drawing inspiration from artists like Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks, and Reba McEntire, Chelsey brings a powerful yet genuine presence to every performance. Though she’s primarily rooted in country music, her experience as the lead singer of the 80's band, Members Only, has shaped her into a versatile and dynamic vocalist.
Backed by a band stacked with top-notch musicians, Chelsey James delivers shows that are as fun as they are meaningful. The tight bond the band shares offstage translates directly into their live performances, creating an atmosphere that feels less like a concert and more like a shared experience. Chelsey’s favorite part of performing is breaking down the wall between the stage and the audience, inviting everyone in the room to feel something and feel included. Every show is about connection, energy, and giving audiences something memorable they haven’t seen or heard before.
When she’s not on stage, Chelsey enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids and coaching cheerleading at Logan-Rogersville High School. Whether performing a heartfelt ballad or turning up the energy for a crowd-ready anthem, Chelsey James and her band aim to make every show feel like a room full of friends having the best time together.
