About Josh

Josh Cherry is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for Cherry & James, bringing a lifetime of musical experience and a deep-rooted love for live performance to every show. A native of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Josh has been singing for as long as he can remember, first stepping onto a professional stage at just four years old as part of the Andy Williams Christmas Show in Branson. He taught himself guitar at 16 and has been building his craft ever since, with his trusted Martin never far from reach.

Before forming Cherry & James, Josh led worship on and off beginning in high school and later spent a full season fronting his band, Josh Cherry and the Huckle Bearers. His sound is shaped by powerhouse storytellers and performers like Garth Brooks, Chris Stapleton, and Cody Johnson, blending authenticity, grit, and heart. As a frontman, Josh is known not just for his vocals, but for setting the tone — on stage and off — with a strong emphasis on professionalism, respect, and connection.

Offstage, Josh works as the Operations & Marketing Director for Hogan Land Title Company. When he’s not performing, he’s most likely spending time with his wife and two young daughters or keeping up with his favorite sports teams. A fun fact most people don’t know: he once auditioned for Family Feud.

For Josh, being in Cherry & James is about more than great music. The band feels like family, and that spirit carries into every venue they play. His goal is simple but intentional: to be the venue’s favorite band — not just because of the music, but because of how they treat people and leave every room better than they found it. While his current favorite song in the set is “Hard to Handle” by The Black Crowes, what matters most is that audiences leave entertained, appreciated, and able to feel the care and hard work poured into every show.
