About Zach
Zach Clift is the lead guitarist for Cherry & James, bringing precision, tone, and a deep love for country guitar to the band’s sound. A native of Marshfield, Missouri, Zach picked up his first guitar at just 10 years old and has been chasing great tone ever since, most often through his trusted Fender Telecaster.
Zach’s playing is heavily influenced by the golden era of 80s and 90s country, drawing inspiration from legendary guitarists and artists like Brent Mason, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Vince Gill. His versatility as a musician shows through his involvement in multiple projects, including playing lead guitar for the Isaac Kenneth Band, serving as a host for Country Music and Friends, and playing drums on his church’s worship team. He has also spent time playing bass guitar with the band Belle Ford, giving him a well-rounded musical foundation.
Outside of music, Zach is the owner and operator of C-4 Elite Construction, specializing in concrete, land clearing, and excavation. When he’s not on a job site or on stage, he enjoys camping and spending time outdoors. For Zach, the best part of being in Cherry & James is the people — every band he’s part of becomes family, and that sense of camaraderie shines through in every performance.
